You do not need health insurance for a One Year Extension of Stay based on Retirement from a Non-O visa.

Correct! The maximum fine would be 20K THB, and no other penalties will exist.

I'm closing comments. The OP got a single entry Non-O visa from an e-visa. I deleted some incorrect information. If there's anything to add, please send a moderator/ admin a message

You will look in your passport. A Non-O visa is valid for 90 days, and on entry would allow you to stay in Thailand for 90 days. A Non-OA visa is a multiple entry visa that's valid for one year, and on entry, allows you to stay for one year.

You're welcome 🙂 There's too many variables when entering other countries, especially these days. I know *MOST* countries have their own "Visa Advice Facebook Groups", and most of the groups are helpful

Anthony, can you please make your own post please? This has nothing to do with the poster's question. Thank you.

This is not an "exit plan" discussion group. If you need help identifying potential countries to enter, please visit

. This is a website used by airlines to decide who should be allowed to board flights. If there is a country that you're interested in visiting/ doing a border hop, please search Facebook for a relevant visa advice group, and review the requirements for the Thai consulate to confirm a visa for your needs can be issued.

What's the 30 day extension of stay you're getting?

@Andrew ****
I *DOUBT* you can go from a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai wife to a one year extension of stay based on retirement. You *CAN* be able to go from a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai wife to a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national.
