Hi.

I'm currently on the Covid visa which expires in March. Judging from the advice in other posts here it's unlikely I will be able to get another 60 days as i was on an ED for some of my stay.

My question is: if I manage to leave Thailand and come back in would I then be issued a standard Tourist visa or are there problems associated with leaving and returning if you were on the Covid amnesty visa before you left.

All advice gratefully received

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Covid visa that expires in March and is unsure if they can obtain a standard Tourist visa after leaving Thailand, given their previous visa history. Comments clarify that it's not possible to get a visa on entry and suggest securing a Tourist visa in advance through a Thai embassy or the online application system.

This is not an "exit plan" discussion group. If you need help identifying potential countries to enter, please visit

. This is a website used by airlines to decide who should be allowed to board flights. If there is a country that you're interested in visiting/ doing a border hop, please search Facebook for a relevant visa advice group, and review the requirements for the Thai consulate to confirm a visa for your needs can be issued.

apologies. I was just offering caveated advice relevant to the OP regarding having to exit and return in challenging circumstances. It wasn't an exit strategy it was sharing of research into how to obtain a visa by leaving and then returning. I think this is something a lot of people are struggling with at the moment. I read the group terms of reference and it didn't seem this was controversial.

I appreciate the group and all that it is doing and in future will limit my comments to Visa matters within Thailand, as I understand it now.

You're welcome ๐Ÿ™‚ There's too many variables when entering other countries, especially these days. I know *MOST* countries have their own "Visa Advice Facebook Groups", and most of the groups are helpful

You can not get a visa on entry.

You have to buy the Tourist visa from a Thai Embassy or if legit using the On-line application site before you make your way to Thailand.

I would suggest to look for the Visa that fits your purpose and length of stay in stead of another short time solution.
