The gym needs to be registered to offer ED visas. Not just any gym can offer an ED visa. You'll have to train at a gym that offers the visa to stay on long term

ED visa but you'll need paperwork from a gym that offers training and visa. Whatever you do do NOT say you're working, you'd most likely be deported.

UK citizens need to buy and can get a visa on arrival at Laos and Cambodia border crossings. Evisa's are also available in advance.
