I always get a re-entry the same time as I get my 1 year extension even if I have no intention of leaving at the time. For a 1000baht it saves a lot of hassle even if don’t use it.

Remember to get a re-entry permit before you leave on April 12th otherwise you will lose your one year extension and will only be given a visa exempt 30 day stamp when you arrive back in Thailand.

Print both out.

Put your flight into Thailand and the flight out of Thailand together/next to each other.

Take picture and use that as your one document

Open next Tuesday but suspect most, especially in Bangkok and tourist areas, will be rammed to the rafters.

I usually walk and go and have a breakfast at Cheap Charlie’s.

You don’t literally have to wait at Immigration.

If you don’t have 2 hours to spare once every 3 months you don’t have much of a retirement.

Just to let you know for 90 day reporting in Jomtien you do not physically have to go into the immigration building. You just go to the desk outside on your right as you enter through the gate. Drop your passport and forms etc off and go back an hour or 2 later. No waiting around.

Jomtien is very easy to do the 90 day in person.

You do not need to even go into the immigration building.

They have a table on the right hand side through the main entrance outside.

You just drop your passport off, do any paperwork, go have something to eat and go back an hour later and it will be done.

Hope you got a re-entry permit before you left.

If you leave before your first 90 day report then you count
*****
days from when you return.

However You do either need a re-entry permit (which I think you have for the 1000baht) or multi entry re-entry permit for your 1 year extension still to be valid when you return to Thailand

If you do apply for the 60 day visa make sure you show it to immigration on arrival or you will just get stamped in for 30 days.
