A TM30 report is generally not required if a foreigner returns to the same address after traveling abroad or visiting another Thai province, provided a valid, initial registration exists. It is also not required for short-term stays where no immigration services (visa extension, 90-day report) are needed.

Key Situations Where a New TM30 is Not Required:

Returning to the same address: If a landlord previously filed a TM30 for your residence, you do not need to refile it upon returning to that same place, including after international travel.

Moving within the same province: While you must technically report address changes, local immigration offices often do not require a new TM30 for short trips within the same area.

Staying in hotels: Hotels are required to report guests, so a personal TM30 filing is not needed for hotel stays.

No Immigration services needed: If you are not extending your visa or doing a 90-day report during a short stay, some areas may not enforce the filing.

Important Nuances:

Local Office Rules: Practices vary by province; some, such as Chonburi/Jomtien, may have specific, differing requirements, with some offices occasionally asking for re-registration after trips.

Initial Requirement: An initial TM30 must have been filed by the landlord for the, "no need to refile" rule to apply.
