It’s a terrible messed up unfair situation. She passed away in a foreign land so I understand all the guilt. I lost a daughter and it was her birthday Saturday. The why never gets answered and nothing we can do can bring them back. Find ways to honor her and be kind to yourself. I meditate and imagine she is with me. I even speak to her even if she never responds and tell her how sorry I am. Are you sleeping at night? Sleeping pills if not. Be kind to yourself, honor her, and make sure you are getting enough sleep.

this thread gave me more hope. When I googled it the articles say it’s almost impossible and should go for the green card… but that process seems pointless if we have no plans to ever live there.

I agree the rules seem backwards on process. The system needs a complete overhaul. We can dream at this point.

Yeah I understand, in the past my wife had to wait outside when I entered to get documents. That place is all seriousness. I understand what Wylie Pfat did.

I appreciate the advice. So it’s worth trying and if they say no we can go the longer tedious route eventually even if it doesn’t make sense.

yes that is what I have read so far. Us being married hurts her chances. I wish there was a lie detector test to solve this.

exactly reading the comments yikes. I am a divorced dad and travel with my kids outside the USA and I want to be questioned and show the proper document. Scary people want to get on planes without the proper document with children.

It is perhaps similar to the USA. I am divorced. For me to take the kids outside the USA I need a notorized consent letter. It’s a form you can get by googling it. I need to notify my ex of the travel plans. For safe measure I even wrote in the custody agreement the children can travel with me outside the USA that the judge signed it. At the airport I showed the notorized letter from the mother and no problems.
