Yes. I have to do it again. Every night you spend away from your registered address you have to go and re-register. Stupid stupid law but it is Thai law so we must obey

Robert agreed. I’m sure they get lies from open until close so are prepared to work with those willing to work with them

I think that’s the lesson here Robert. It is a bit strictly by the rules but I think they acknowledge genuine effort when it has been given

There’s a reason it’s complicated I suppose Ray and we either accept it or move to VN, which is well on the cards

agree with that. Got caught two weeks ago with the same thing. I’m up to five visits so far, three to register residence and tomorrow it’ll be three to re-register after returning from Australia. Maybe they’re trying to get expats to move into Phuket Town and push the real estate values up 😉

That is exactly what I was told yesterday by the official. I returned today with all only to be told I also need the rental contract. As usual arguing the point was met with polite understanding and I’ll go back tomorrow with the contract

The four week wait is a prompter for you to ask if there’s an express service which as someone pointed out is 1,000 baht. I wasn’t at odds with your message, just offering my experience as a possible solution. The four week wait is a lie, it can be done while you wait. I didn’t advocate using an agent, never would as I agree wholeheartedly that doing so only make the corruption more endemic
