Thai immigration is not that stupid. They will soon see you're trying to live in the country by by-passing the long-term visas. Perhaps you'd be better off looking at a visa which suits your plans

I apologise for the confusion. If you read the entire thread you will see that I was responding to Brown Graham's post. As he is Australian I was staying on that topic. I agree DTAs will vary from to country, and I know that both Germany and NZ have almost identical to the Australian DTA. I also understand that the UK DTA is a little more complicated. I haven't even looked at it, as it holds no interest at all for me.

Yep sure was! The Russians claimed half of Europe and the yanks handed it over without a whimper. Great backbone! So the yanks lost that and then went on to draw with North Korea, and a defeat against Vietnamese rice farmers. Impressive record!

Right on most things but the infatuation with the US ended when Britain realised it was the Russians who won WW2, when they saw the Americans running away from North Vietnamese Rice Farmers in 1975 after they'd sent 58,000+ young Americans to an early grave.

Be aware when using an agent they have to set up a bank account in your name and they deposit the 800k for a few days. Under new tax laws you could be paying tax on this unless you can show where it came from
