Normally the I/O will question after 6 visa exempt stamps in your passport, and look through your passport to see how long your staying, if he notices that your getting extensions for the 30 day visa exempts, then they will scrutinize and advise you next time to come back with a Tourist Visa. They don't seem to like seeing the 30 day visa exempts being extended because the total for that is 60 days, if your staying that long they want you to use the Tourist Visa.

Just go to the foreign passport line. Whats the problem? You can try but why waste time standing in line for them to tell you no, might as well just wait in the foreign passport line and wait for her after customs

Very easy. Take the minivan service from the airport to border, stamp out of Thailand and then use the bus to cross the river to Lao. From there use the Tuktuk to the Embassy.

It's normal because it's Single Entry. It's stamped so the I/O knows not to use it again if you leave/re-enter

Just pay 150฿ for a minivan that goes from udon airport straight to the Nong Khai border. No point in trying to go out of your way to save a measly 50฿

In that case, dont you agree that the METV only benefits those who are traveling in/out of Thailand often compared to those who just stay put in Thailand for the entire 90 days? Because after the 90 days are up, you still need to buy a flight somewhere or go to Lao and stamp in... since your already there and paid for the Visa to enter the country, it seems kind of a waste of time to just turn around and go back after you already traveled there so you can spend a day or two in another country and while already there its not much of a hassle to go to the thai embassy to drop your off application for a new Visa before you return to Thailand.

I originally thought of getting the METV, but now after learning that I still need to buy a ticket somewhere and stamp into another country, the SETV might be a better option

When the first 90 days are up and you get to the airport, how do you get stamped out if you don't have a departure ticket? So is it only limited to going to border via Lao for example, you arrive and stamp out and then what do you do from there, just turn back around and show your passport to stamp back in? Do you need to actually go to Lao and stamp into the country or not?

welcome to the tourist visa life. every 3 months you need to stamp out of thailand and stamp back in.

Seems a bit counter intuitive. Volunteering to do something is not work when it is free. If you see trash on the road and want to pick it up you are volunteering to do so. Working involves making money. If no money is involved, what's the problem?

Is it possible to enter at another border if denied at certain border? For example you come back by bus fron Laos at Udon Thani and they reject you.. can you fly from Laos to Bangkok and try to enter there on the same Visa?
