Can I do a 30 day extension on this visa? If not then would I have to leave the country and come back again. I just need more time for my ed visa application to go through.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend your single entry tourist visa for an additional 30 days at an immigration office in Thailand for a fee of 1,900 Baht. Despite having a used stamp on your visa, this does not prevent you from extending your stay. It's important to make sure you apply for the extension before your current admission date of April 12.

the country is police report mad. I had to do one for a lost electric meter deposit receipt when I sold a condo so the buyer could get the electric put on. I think it was 20 baht and half a day out of my life messing around.
David *******
@Ron ******
yes I had to do this had to go to local police station and it cost 10 baht, I gave hime 1000 note and he said forget it :-)

@Em***
, I think you'd better to call to Samui IO to check if you need a police report to get your new departure card (TM6) as
@R**
mentioned. I don't think you want to take two boat trips for one extension, in the worst case you need the police report from your area...

Damn(!) Good thing you're going early, Emily.
Ron *******
That depends on each immigration office. Some want a police report for a lost TM6.
Thomas ********************
I think you can fill out a new one at the immigration office.
Ted *******
Yes you can extend it for 30 days for 1900 baht at an immigration office
Matthew *******
You can stay maximum of 60 days per entry, but can extend each stay for another 30. So you could stay 90 if it's multiple tourist
Matthew *******
@Tod ********
yes sorry I was not sure if was multi

@Matthew ******
, that is incorrect.

She has a SINGLE entry tourist visa so she was stamped in once for 60 days and can get a 30 day extension at the immigration office for 1900baht.

Even if it was a multi-entry she couldn't stay 90 days without buying a 30 day extension

@Emily *******
yes for 30 day it costs i think 1900b

It's just a single but I can still extend?
Stephen *******
You got a 60 day entry when you arrived - 12 Feb untill 12 Apr. You are admitted until then. That other word is "Signed". Yes you can extend it.
David *******
@Ted ******
oh dear I need to stop learning thai lol I forgot March comes after feb 😎😂
Thomas ********************
Good to know, thanks!
Jason ******
@Thomas *******************
It's normal because it's Single Entry. It's stamped so the I/O knows not to use it again if you leave/re-enter
Ted *******
David Mills because there are 60 days between 12th Feb and 12th April. This includes the 12th of February as 1 day (so it's really date +59 days). The 12th April is the date she is admitted to stay until

@David ******
yeah that's why I'm confusedd
David *******
silly question if entered 12th feb and it is 60 day why does it say "until 12th april"?
Thomas ********************
@Stephen ******
is it normal procedure they add the used stamp on arrival?

Pheww okay thank god

Also what does it mean admitted until sighed 12th April?
Peter ***************
With a tourist visa, you get a 60-day stamp on arrival, which can be extended for 30 days for a payment of 1,900 Baht. You can also extend again for the same payment but you only get 7 days, which can be useful in certain circumstances but is not very cost effective
Thomas ********************
I thought they only did that on departure. Good to know against future panic :)
Duncan *******
The answer is yes, if can be extended. The used stamp means the single entry tourist entry has been used, nothing to do with extensions.

@Thomas *******************
they would have done that when I arrived in bangkok. So if I left the country for a day or two can I come back and get a 30 day tourist visa and extend it again?
Thomas ********************
@Emily *******
It has a "USED" stamp. Where did they do that?

I don't think you can extend.

@Thomas *******************
okay so I can extend it for 30 days? I'm going to samui tomorrow and just freaked out it I can't extend it
Thomas ********************
That means you'd have to extend or leave before apr 12.
