TLDR : Answer Summary
To get from Udon Thani to Nong Khai, travelers can opt for local buses or minivans. The local bus can be caught at the bus station near Central Plaza, costing around 80-90 baht. Alternatively, minivans are available at Central Festival or directly from Udon Airport to the border, generally costing between 150 to 200 baht. Minivans are recommended for convenience and frequent departures after flights.

Just pay 150฿ for a minivan that goes from udon airport straight to the Nong Khai border. No point in trying to go out of your way to save a measly 50฿

, For future reference, Where do you get the minivan from at the airport? Is it at the 'Limo Service' desk?

Randall Simpson No problem. Just as I was staying near Central, it was more convenient. Are you going to The Thai Consulate in Vientiane?

There are minivans that run from the airport to the border bridge shortly after every flight arrival, just check here for times -

if I recall correctly, I think the cost was about 200 baht 2 years ago.

If you go to central festival there's minivans which will take you right to the border. There's a small ticket office who will let you know what time the next one is, it's very cheap too.
