Bring $ € £ ¥

SuperRich in basement of BKK airport

Not all SuperRich have the same rates. Queue at Asoke BTS can be ridiculous.

Tourists standing & sweating it out to get an extra baht or two 🙃 555

Or go to the air conditioned SuperRich in the tunnel under Asoke BTS Sukhumvit MRT

Prefer Vasu at Sukhumvit Soi
***
-- air conditioned, comfy couch. 🍺 SOMETIMES they offer free apple bananas 🍌

You need to show your passport nearly everywhere for exchange. Bring new notes, largest denominations get better rates.

Less convenient, unless you're nearby Patpong, and don't mind a walkabout; is X-1 slightly better than the above.

You'll be arsed to do it, but it's certainly possible.

Suggest you choose a Bangkok Bank branch near where you'll live because in the long run, it'll be convenient as you can only do many things at the branch where you've opened your account.

Bangkok Bank at EmQuartier near Phrom Pong BTS is reportedly easier than most. Pop in with your passport to obtain their current requirements list.

Obviously tell them your purpose is to obtain a visa and straightaway you'd like to transfer in the required 800k baht. They may 'ask' you to buy an real insurance policy as the staff gets a bit of commission from that, (allegedly) 🙃 555

Siam Legal solicitors can assist you, charging around 5,000 baht; but with diligence; you'll get it done.

there'll be closure days of all gov offices due to Songkran; check on that before you go.

Are you saying that a normal 30 day extension for a 60 day Tourist Visa is no longer done at Division 1 Chaengwattana ?

The 30 day extension for a visa exempt free entry is done at IT Square Laksi, which if one makes an online appointment for isn't a total shit show.

Was unaware of that.

Sorry for the incorrect information.

Edited that out, mate.

The hospital may be able to assist him for a special visa... and/or he can consider the visa for medical reasons

Please enquire at the Royal Thai Embassy in the country of citizenship.

Or better / easier to just apply for a 60 day tourist, which can be extended once adding another 30 days. After that, usually one must leave; so not sure if hospital can have a say in his extending without leaving LOS...

I hope they're both not getting surgery...

all the best,

Cheers

I think you mean to say that Thai immigration isn't that tough. 🙃 555

Good luck with your visa.

Check Mr Prakan online... or messenger to "Sweetway Asia" to ask about insurance

You're at the discretion of the officer... 🙄

Best to have the 3 proofs in any case, even with a TR visa... or doing a border bounce to get another visa exempt entry...

hotel booking for a few days & onward travel reservation within your allowed days, & 20,000 thb or equivalent in $ £ € in CASH is needed.

Lack of funds is the most common reason cited for denying entry.

Make hotel/onward travel bookings that you can cancel for free.

No brainer, innit?

YMMV

Chan Chan

Get the non O or OA at home.

Get insurance-- good idea to have, innit?

Get to LOS, open a bank account easily having the OA.... talk to immigration nearby where you want to live.

Follow their requirements.

Transfer in 800k.

Extend it again and again.

Have a beer and relax.

Cheers 🍺
