Has anyone obtained a 60-day tourist visa from the Thai embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam?

If you don't have a Vietnamese Resident's Card you can't apply for a TR visa-- certainly neither in Hanoi nor in Ho Chi Minh.

As a consolation, do enjoy THE BEST coconut coffee here, next to the tiny lake with the wreckage of an American downed B52 bomber.

hotel booking for a few days & onward travel reservation within 45 days, & 20,000 thb or equivalent in $ £ € in CASH is needed.

There isn't currently, nor ever was previously, any actual rule.

Seems a loose rule of thumb that is 180 days in 6 months using visa exempt entry might raise some eyebrows. 🙃 555
