Do you really need a letter of support? I suppose it depends on the embassy, but I just asked for a letter describing my medical issue and a treatment plan of at least several months. And i got approved.
Agreed. I don't see why language should be disqualified. Language is a part of culture, right? More applicants should try applying with language so we can reach a more definite answer on that.
Too bad Thai culture has so little to offer. Not everyone fancies sweating over a boiling cauldron or full contact sports in humid climates. No Thai painting or Thai instrumental music for the aspiring dilettante?
Even though it was approved for some applications, maybe it has something to do with being advertised specifically for DTV applicants. There was a report from someone who was denied based on muay thai because the embassy had an issue with the course marketing itself as a guarantee for DTV approval.
sean jones Maybe your decades in Thailand have made you intolerant of criticism. Just confused by the inconsistency of having no requirements to re-enter for a five-year period (as it so far seems) and introducing unexpected requirements for extension at about six months after the visa was introduced.
The requirements suggest the visa is no longer valid if you do not comply with the document re-certification. I mean valid in the practical sense that it cannot be used. Yes, I know that the period of stay is 180 days because it says so on the entry stamp.
Why make the visa for five years if you have to go through this every six months? Clearly, it's just a six-month visa which they called a five-year visa for no reason at all.
They don't have access to your original applcation materials, do they? You won't be disqualified from an extension if you just change jobs, start a remote business, or choose another of the SP options, right? Or this is still unknown...
