The new rules only affect people using visa exempt/ visa exempt with extensions.

People who use visa exempt for its intended purpose eg. 4 x 2 week holidays a year won’t be affected

Give an take really , depends on how much you travel.

Moving to a DTV will

Potentially result in loosing your bank account.

DTV qualify once in 5 years, compared to marriage having to qualify every year.

If you are frequently travelling in and out id say the DtV will be better
