Many, usually anonymous, who report questioning or other difficulties entering Thailand on a DTV tend not to mention their previous immigration history as well.

it’s not a new immigration act. They just temporarily stopped asking people arriving by air to fill out the paper forms. Now it’s back and is an online process.

The visa has dates on it; valid from…

valid until…

That is the validity period within which you can enter on it.

A tourist visa has a validity period of 90 days, a DTV has a validity period of 5 years.

I’m not sure how much clearer it could be explained.

This is not true.

The 60 day tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. That’s the time you have to use it to get a 60 day entry stamp.

The DTV is valid for 5 years. That’s the time you have to use it to get a 180 day entry stamp.

You may already know this, but often different immigration offices have slightly different requirements. It’s always worth asking for a list. They have lists. 😊

Good luck with everything.

They can also advise you how to get any kind of different visas/extensions you might be thinking of.

If you speak to them directly you won’t be wondering what’s going to happen at the ‘big bad immigration office’ or be convinced by agents that it’s all so difficult so you need to pay them to do it for you.

yes, payment in advance for a 30 day extension but, if they weren’t going to give you the extension they wouldn’t have taken your money.

to clear up any confusion, rather than going to agents, it might be best to go to the immigration office you might use for an extension and ask them. They won’t bite you.
