Why was my Thai visa application rejected by the Ankara embassy?

Negative case from Turkey (Ankara) embassy (REJECTED).

My visa application got rejected. Just sharing the experience.

Submitted on June 18. Departure date indicated - August 4.

Received response on Saturday, August 2nd at 10 pm.

There were no additional requests for documents, just a rejected status right away. The status changed to waiting for approval 2 days before that.

The documents I submitted were all true, perfect (in my opinion) and in full (workation). A work contract confirming that I can work remotely (I work at this company for ~11 years), a bank statement (showing needed funds).

Submitted from Georgia. Provided a photo of the stamp on entry into Georgia and a housing contract for 6 months (before applying, I asked the embassy via Facebook if it's enough - they answered Yes).

So, I have no idea what exactly they didn't like about my application and why it was rejected..

Text from the refusal letter:

'Your visa application has been rejected. Submission of dubious documents.'

Great business for them though... +400$

You say you have no idea why they refused your application, but it says quite clearly why.

They believe the documents you submitted were ‘dubious’.

Am I reading this correctly, you submitted your application to Thai Embassy/Consulate in Ankara, Turkey but you submitted it from Georgia?

If that’s correct, well of course you would be rejected, as you have to apply from within Turkey, preferably Ankara (in case they call you for an interview)and stay there until you receive the decision.🤷🏾‍♀️

Ankara processes visas for multiple neighboring countries, as there is no Thai embassy in Georgia etc. I was living in Georgia but also got my DTV through Ankara.

You might wish to contact an agent with "Contacts" in Immigration. They can check to see if there is any note on your record as if Ankara have done this it could effect applications elsewhere.

Don't worrie you're not alone im from America and I had significantly more money and proof and I very well put together file and I didnt get the DTV either and since I left Thailand a week ago things jave just been better off for me. You're not missing anything because the relationships in Thailand are so transactional all based on money. They want the money not the people. Nobody they won't have a dime more of either of mine.

Luckily they do not seem to ban for dubious documents. They would have told you. Do that for a British visa and 10 year ban for applying for a visa.

Sounds like they questioned the legitimacy of your documents. Could try to reapply from a better place like Vietnam or Jakarta.

I'd say it's pretty clear they thought the documents were bogus.
