I wouldn't take any bet on it. Fake marriages are more common than you might think

@Cris *****
Bangkok and Phuket are the hotspots for faked marriages between Indians, Bangladeshi and Pakistani with Thai wives. And yes, some Arabs participate in this scheme, too

and it is called a "re-ENTRY permit", not a "re-EXIT permit" 😂😁 . . . . make my day, mate!

"but you can apply to extend it based on marriage for 12 months by depositing 400 baht in a Thai bank account for two months". . . . . . . . . . only 400 Baht 😂😄, THAT would be a DREAM COME TRUE for hundreds and thousands of foreigners married to aThai wife 😄😂

no more 365-days multi entry Non-Imm-O Family Visa any more. Only the 90-days single entry option. You can enter on it, get a bank account opened ASAP, transfer a minimum of 400,000 THB into it and as soon as the money has been in the account for 2 months, you can apply for the "1-year extension of the stay permit based on being married to a Thai wife". You need a "Kor Ror 22" marriage registry printout from the Amphur - so you can only apply for the extension if your marriage has already been acknowledged and registered inside Thailand. If not, it is a pretty time-wasting effort to get that done . . . . On the day you get issued the "1-year extended stay permit", you can buy a "multi re-entry permit" for it for 3800 THB, which will keep your stay permit alive and active during the 1-year period of the stay permit

there still are many pre-arranged, fake marriages around, that allow foreigners to stay in Thailand. That's why Immigration is checking that your marriage is for real

3 months, that's wrong . . . . with the METV, the 6-months visa validity, i.e. the period you can use it for an entry, begins at the date of issue. Every Thai embassy worldwide should be eager to issue an METV as close as possible to the flight date, so the applicant doesn't lose too many days of the visa validity

when you apply for the METV, you don't actually expect them to have such a fast turnaround. Because the 6-months visa validity begins on the day the visa gets issued. So no wonder the embassy will attempt to issue the METV as close as possible to your flight date, so you don't lose too many days of the 6 months visa validity

@Lynnette ******
"yes, 72 hours before arriving" . . . . . 85 hours or 126 hours would also be "72 hours before arriving". . . it is a pretty misleading wording
Greg ***********
@Lynnette ******
not "before" 72 hours. It can be done "within" 72 hours of planned arrival
