so is it only the last tm30 before my visit to immigration that really matters?

No need to keep track of tm30s if I'm traveling all over Thailand and then rent a condo, all immigration will ask for is the TM30 associated with my latest residence, yeah?

do I need to cancel my ED visa extension first before applying for the retirement based extension ? Or, can I apply for the extension based on retirement while holding my ED visa stamp to ensure I have a fallback. On getting the retirement Visa approval, won't the ED automatically cancel?
