quite simple if you read any thai news. Government always worry about overstays, so this is a requirement due to you are only visiting and they want to take steps to ensure that you are actually going to leave.

there's no rules against it, just you might spend days searching for one that will. a visa agent can assist you, maybe 90 minutes more or less of your time.

thats fine for onward ticket, but I recall you might need to be in your home country to apply for that visa. might be better off coming back same way, visa in arrival find a well know visa agent and get 30 day extension, or do it yourself.

everyone is alway saying TM30, however if you are at a hotel and less than 30 days it's a completely different "and acceptable" form that they give you. Mine had every foreign guest less than 30 days on it, and the simply took a pen and crossed off the others, and immigration had no issues with it

A bit confusing post. If you're moving to Thailand and planning to work/teach you're required to have the proper visa which you only get through your employer.

Teaching English even with an English degree you're most likely going to also need a TEFL certification which, at best will take many months to complete.

Need to be careful saying going into bank avoiding fees. I did that 3 years ago. True thai bank didn't charge me anything however chase bank nailed me for 38USD FEE atm card "not from atm" was the text if i recall correctly

An obvious option you seemed to have overlooked is to search around for a bank that will... should not be difficult. I know chase does as I've used them for this. You can have more than one bank. You'll need to get their international routing number and not the normal one used locally Swift code is what it's called. Can be transferred from a brokerage account as well although never tried it.

You live in Germany and from Germany but don't have an address there? They're going to assume you are permanently moving to Thailand and will deny you.

If your good at stock investing possibly thai stock exchange. Depending on world events usd may eventually crash with the extended wild spending and move away from usd as the world currency and if that happens would come out ahead on that alone. Otherwise wouldn't invest there... anything else going to go pear shaped sooner or later

yes Thailand in general and anything Visa is quite confusing. No, Visa Exempt and Visa on Arrival has been around decades or longer. Some mix-up the terminology, but is very different. A list of Visa on Arrival countries is listed here:
*********************************************************
Visa Exempt is not likely you'd be asked to show enough funds upon entry, Visa on Arrival, would be asked more often that not.
