I am 77, I plan on dropping my US Medicare when I move there. I do not plan on coming back, period. If I should return for some reason, I was told I would have to wait for next enrollment period the end of the year. Never mentioned a penalty. I want to be cremated, so I plan to go back in an envelope. That gives me $200.00 to put toward my insurance in Thailand.
I agree, I don't listen about not hiring an agent. I am 77. It will be easier for me to use an agent. I do not want any hassle's. Actually I will be using a law firm. I plan on buying a condo, and will need them, then. I will rent for two or three months then buy. Good Luck to you. I am planning on Hua Hin.
I was told you had to apply for the non -o while still in United States? I am planning on moving in December 2024. Which is it> Can I come with just my passport, get an agent when I get there and apply for non-o there?
Thank you. This is what I have a most of my notes. But from time to time, I get mixed comments that confuse me as to when to do what.. This helps. Thank you.
So I want to get non-o visa here? and deal with the rest there?I can get health insurance once I get there. I haven't stayed there at length for several years. It was between Thailand and Italy. Which I usually stay 4 to 8 weeks . I have been doing that for over 40 years. Thailand is similar temp. to where I live now.. So I know myself, and I will adjust just fine. I have been planning this for some time now. But the visa thing, it seems like I have heard so many different things. I know it is changing again soon. Thank you.
because I am not sure as to when to hire one. I am not sure as when I will use the lawyer. I want them if I buy a condo, which I am sure I will after a while. Do I get visa here for 90 days non o, then get bank account and deposit my 800,000for 3 months when I get there? Do I get health insurance when I get there?
