Regarding health insurance requirement for a retirement visa. Can I use my Medicare (USA) and supplement insurance.

I understand the insurance is not allowed to be used in Thailand but I could return if needed.

Secondly, can I self insure? If so how much do I need show?

What’s the go-to low cost high deductible approved Health Plan for somebody on US Medicare, but just needs Thai Plan to satisfy Non-0 Visa requirement?

This is for the people from USA. How did you proceed to drop your Medicare insurance from being deducted out of your Social security Check? Thank You

Turning of age in the USA and trying to escape.... I will have retirement and social security. My question is, I understand I have to have medical. but what do you do about the Medicare in USA? Do you drop all but Part A , or do you keep everything or do a Medicare advantage.

Anyone with experience getting a reimbursement from Medicare for any urgent or emergency care? I'm struggling with whether or not to purchase a policy. All policies I've looked into say they are secondary coverage. They also are on a reimbursement basis as is Medicare. Do any travel insurance plans pay direct to the provider/hospital? What do you retirees do about insurance? I could self insure but would rather transfer the risk. Thanks!

What has been your experience using Medicare gap or Medicare advantage to cover emergency medical expenses when traveling outside the USA? Please no rude comments.

Hello. I’m an American married to a Thai man for nearly 30 years. I am unable to do citizenhhip application for another 2 years. I am wondering what the rules are regarding insurance for me in Thailand. I have Medicare but nothing here. Husband has Thai gold insurance card.

Was reading this in Hua Hin news.

Applicants can now use health insurance or government welfare from abroad. A relevant government agency, such as a foreign embassy in Thailand or the respective country’s Foreign Ministry must certify the insurance.

What is meant by government welfare are they referring to Medicare or Medicaid for USA retirees

Thanks
