This is for the people from USA. How did you proceed to drop your Medicare insurance from being deducted out of your Social security Check? Thank You

Anyone with experience getting a reimbursement from Medicare for any urgent or emergency care? I'm struggling with whether or not to purchase a policy. All policies I've looked into say they are secondary coverage. They also are on a reimbursement basis as is Medicare. Do any travel insurance plans pay direct to the provider/hospital? What do you retirees do about insurance? I could self insure but would rather transfer the risk. Thanks!

Hello. I’m an American married to a Thai man for nearly 30 years. I am unable to do citizenhhip application for another 2 years. I am wondering what the rules are regarding insurance for me in Thailand. I have Medicare but nothing here. Husband has Thai gold insurance card.

Was reading this in Hua Hin news.

Applicants can now use health insurance or government welfare from abroad. A relevant government agency, such as a foreign embassy in Thailand or the respective country’s Foreign Ministry must certify the insurance.

What is meant by government welfare are they referring to Medicare or Medicaid for USA retirees

Thanks

Attention all Aussie current/future expats.

Did you know that our Medicare coverage gets cancelled after living permanently overseas for 5 years? Fact.

Starts from date of first departure.

Only gets reinstated when you relocate back to Australia permanently.

A short visit home doesnt reset the 5 years.

We all know its not useable outside of Aust unless the country has reciprocal cover , but dont get caught out after 5 years going home for free healthcare.

Edit## This doesnt apply if you still pay tax in Australia. ##
