Have you thought about the possibility of using the embassy income declaration (visum ondersteuningsbrief) instead of cash in the bank?

Being Dutch, you could get the embassy letter and avoid the money in the bank issue.

An extension based on retirement using the embassy income declaration is the easiest extension there is. Is your embassy still issuing the income declarations?

Please stop using the word "notary" for the embassy income declaration letter. The letter does not need to be notarized, nor has the consul notary powers. Consulates check ones income and issue a letter confirming it.

Didn't they charge the rule recently?

You only file a TM30 once for the place you normally stay. No need to file again every time you return there after a short stay elsewhere.

haven't heard; read or experienced that. There is no rule stating that the money actually needs to be transferred to Thailand. But then TIT, some IO might think differently.

The author is not from the UK, USA or AUS.

An income declaration from the embassy can solve the money in the bank + seasoning issue.

Why would you need a bank letter and bank book if you have the embassy income letter?
