What should I do if my retirement visa is expiring and my bank account has dropped below 400,000 baht for a marriage visa application?

My retirement-visa is going to expire. I want to change to marriage visa, but accidentally my account amount went just under 400000 baht.... It will be repaired on Minday/Tuesday.

Is it a problem?

What should I do?

(expire 12/10)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue where their retirement visa is expiring shortly, and they wish to switch to a marriage visa. However, their bank account balance has temporarily fallen below the required 400,000 baht. Comments suggest that this could complicate their visa application process, as the funds must be maintained in the account for two months prior to applying. One potential recommendation is to apply for a short family extension if they haven’t already, which could give them more time to meet the financial requirements. Alternatively, they could seek an embassy letter to bypass the bank balance issue.

Being Dutch, you could get the embassy letter and avoid the money in the bank issue.

Thanks for the info. But I can't use as I don't take my Dutch 'pension money' yet.

well you need the 400K baht in the bank account for 2 months before you apply for the extension SO you burned yourself getting the year extension.

Hopefully you haven't gotten a 60 day visit thai family extension and can go apply for that (which will give you two months to get the money seasoned) so you can then apply for the new year extension.

Thanks for that info!

To make it clear for me (I am Dutch, English can be mistaken by me...)

-I am NOW in Phangnga.

-I have NEVER used a 60 day visa during those years.

-The money is transferred back already. (so missed only a few thousand fir few days).

I understand that I can go for 60 day visa. If I get it, ask for year visa again?

Is that right?

correct, you can get the 60 day visit thai family extension based on marriage and that will buy you the time to let the money season the 2 months you need before you apply for your year extension. MANY people have been in your situation before and the immigration office will usually recommend that 60 day extension as a way to let you meet the seasoning requirement
