But if you get the non-O visa in my home country, it’s a requirement that I have health insurance added? At my age, that would be pretty expensive, if even available. ? Hence people suggest to get the non-O visa inside Thailand to avoid that added hoop to jump through.
I used the agency right next to immigration in Jomtien on Soi 5. Best 1,900 Baht paid (on top of the regular 1900 B charge for the extension). Saved me so much time vs sitting in the hot room waiting to be called. I didn’t have a TM30 but they took care of that too. Walked straight through immigration, past the lines of people in there waiting, with the agent who did everything for us. Win win for all. And I do believe immigration prefers working with the agents versus the tourist.
My IPhone wouldn’t work for me to complete the required TDAC. I had to have my friend do it for me on his phone. But found out I could have completed it on a computer at the airport. Long lines of people were doing that. The Digital Arrival Card needs to be completed no more than 3 days in advance of your arrival. You’ll need the hotel address you’re going to and your flight arrival info. Everytime you leave and reenter Thailand you need to do this TDAC. You get a stamp for 60 days stay once you arrive. For 1900 Baht you can get a 30 day extension.
International School is/are expensive in Bangkok. But one my nephew has his son in, Thai Sikh International School (TSI) Bangkok isn’t outrageously expensive. And the International school in Ko Samui also is less expensive.
wow. In Jomtien I paid 1900 Baht to a visa agency on top of 1900 Baht for the actual extension. They did all paperwork & pics. In and out of immigration in a snap.
