I requested a cheque, the cheque that was sent was only able to be paid into krugthai account, I didn't have a account there so they opened one for me at branch no questions asked, easiest account I ever opened 10mins and done 😀

I just had similar thing, couldn't be home for home visit, immigration said I should go Laos to do visa, I did as suggested and 24hrs later multi entry visa in hand 🙏👍

it's not actually a clue, "its the answer" but immigration and a online search threw up conflicting answers, hence the question asked on appropriate knowledgeable group 👍

Actually been advised to leave the desk before when I went to book a room (walk in) and book it online with a certain company, then they can give me cheaper price with breakfast Inc + free upgrade.

I'm English, but all I did was get a proof of residence at the local immigration office, then go to test centre, sit through a 10min video, have colour eye test and reaction tests, all in all about 1hr from entering to having both bike and car licenses, same as in England.

Or if you did same as me and forgot to get IDP you can get one online and print it off, it's only a translation of your official license that is required.
