TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a Non-O visa based on marriage with multiple entries, you generally do not need to apply for a re-entry permit. This type of visa allows you to exit and re-enter Thailand without needing a permit, as long as the visa is still valid. It's only necessary to apply for a re-entry permit under specific circumstances, such as if you are near the expiration of your visa and seek to re-enter after it has expired.

Multiple entry is a clue...

it's not actually a clue, "its the answer" but immigration and a online search threw up conflicting answers, hence the question asked on appropriate knowledgeable group ๐Ÿ‘

Your visa already includes multiple entries. The only time you would need a re-entry permit is if you enter Thailand near the end of your visa validity date and get a 90 day stamp and then want to leave and return using the same stamp after your visa has already expired.
