i agree with nearly everything you say ,however you might be going a bit far and have to clarify your remark that visitors are corrupting their ethnicity. On the contrary Thailand is one of the biggest users of social media and the internet in the world, the effect of 30 million odd visitors a year who can't even speak the language is insignificant. Thais' are fiercely proud of their Nationality and for the most part are fully aware of the issues you have raised and many are working towards attaining an honest and transparent democracy. It will take time .Lots of it.

if you are serious about study you are able to get , i believe, a 1 year visa to do so.

I came once on a much earlier visit to Thailand, received the 30 day on arrival visa but then decided about 2 + weeks in to do a day trip to Vientiane not realizing that the new visa issued on my return was only good for 10 days. Upon presenting myself to immigration on departure was shocked to have been told i had overstayed , one day! They must have seen what had happened, laughed it off saying I had a free airport day but made a note in my passport. Was a lesson to always check the stamped dates.

I've been visiting Thailand on visa exempt for 30 years, 20 years without my wife and have never been asked for any financial statement or accommodation booking by Thai immigration , i have however been frequently asked about onward tickets and more recently vaccination status and insurance by the airlines.

Legally, and under Thai law you get to keep everything you came into the partnership with. Realistically anything in your wife's name is hers.

It's the mechanism you may have the most trouble with, if you love the clock perhaps you might consider gifting it to a family member or selling it to to someone who loves it as much as you? Free Willy , and yourself , so too speak.
