I inadvertently stayed one day over once, i did a day trip to Vientiane and received a 10 day land crossing visa on my return crossing back into Thailand which reduced the visa grant for my overall stay by one day. I didn't even realize until pulled aside by immigration on my departure.I guess they could see what had happened and made a note in my passport, handed it back to me saying I was free to go with no fine, jokingly saying that I had received a free airport day.

It's not about cheating the system , it's about proving you have the means to exit and re-entry the country. I would think immigration has thought this through very carefully and re-presenting yourself for an immigration inspection provides them with additional opportunities to check on a repeat visitors entry qualifications.

Forget the agents. As others have said do it yourself.State clearly your connection. That you are inviting her to join you for a holiday and that you will be

responsible for her while she is in Australia and guarantee her return to Thailand when her visa is up.Good luck. Perseverance shows commitment.

why don't you save your sympathizing for those that actually care. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam is an authoritarian state ruled by a single party, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and President Truong Tan Sang. Human rights watch flags Vietnam exactly as i have described it; in fact far worse.

wow that's a sad story, hope some of that might have been Covid and junta related? But on a similar note , i was surprised to see so many young backpackers in Pai during January this year, most of them partying hard, a very different picture to the chilled family /hippie memories of my several other visits over the years. I hope it doesn't become another paradise lost?

Ever thought of travel reporting ? Your comment smashes it. And without even delving into the chaos of overseas financial intervention, human trafficking and the political one party statehood where the opposition leader is forced to live overseas in exile.

Vietnam is a Communist state where you will be imprisoned for even whispering anything against the state. 150 people at last count behind bars.
