The conversation reveals diverse motivations for traveling to Thailand, including the desire for adventure, cultural experiences, affordable living, and social connections, especially in contrast to life in Western countries. Many commenters cite Thailand's friendly people, beautiful beaches, and rich culture as major attractions. Others mention personal relationships and affordable lifestyles as key factors. Additionally, some humorous and lighthearted responses highlight nightlife and the allure of Thai women.
I'd almost rather have a fit ladyboy that an obese bird from the UK. Might not even know if the lights are off, I heard those surgeries are getting pretty good these days. ๐คฃ

would much rather be around silent racists, than joyless grouches and grumps, who do not even recognize humor, when they see it.

90% of single guys in TH are just here to bang hookers, esp all these fat loser incels from the West. Let's just be honest, TH tourism wld go to hell if they ever shut down the sex industry.
Sunny days, warm nights, great food, women who still like men, the super polite policemen, and not being regulated or controlled up the wahzoo for my own good by ignorant "Karens" in High-Vis.

I live here. ๐๐ However my first trip here in 2001 Thailand felt like home and over the next 16 years I made multiple trips before deciding to retire here. People, food, culture, wildlife, but it all comes back to the people!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Better food, nicer people, better environment to raise my kids. Lower cost of living means my wife, kids and I can afford to do more fun things.
Also I was treated like a second class citizen in Canada for well over a year and my coworkers wished my unborn baby would die as I was getting fired from 3 of my jobs.
Getting treated like subhuman vermin by people who said they'd have your back is a strong motivator.
what documents do they ask to apply for a tourist visa?

I honestly didn't want to come but some of my friends convinced me to go with them. Flash forward 6 years, I now live in Thailand and will get married next month.
I was fed up going to Europe and holidaying with British people so back in the late 80s I went to Thailand and havenโt been back to Spain or the other places that British flock to
