TLDR : Answer Summary
If you've overstayed your visa in Thailand by 30 days, there are several recommended actions you can take. First, if eligible, go to an immigration office to apply for an extension and pay any fines incurred (500 baht per day, max 20,000 baht). If not eligible for an extension, leave Thailand as soon as possible, ideally by heading directly to the airport to pay your overstay fee before departing. Be respectful to immigration officials, and consider avoiding giving your passport details to landlords or hotel owners, as this could lead to police enforcement. Always prepare to pay the fine when exiting the country, and be aware of potential bans if caught during your overstay.

Contact trusted visa run agencies who can assist and mediate between you and the immigration officer,

I remembered the last time i was in my visa run, There is one American has 3 months overstay ,He just pay at the border of Mukdahan (no idea how much). He depart Thailand with out overstay stamped on his passport and freely applied 2 months visa inside Savanakhet at the Thai embassy.

Good heavens the number of idiots commenting is just staggering. In addition to booking a flight out of Thailand as soon as possible, also consider if the place you are staying at now has done a TM30 report to immigration. If there is a chance that they have, then move out NOW. (The only way to be sure is if you didn't give them your passport details.)

You do not want to be picked up by police, which is happening more often to more people, also with very minor overstays, sometimes just a couple of days. A very basic query in their database shows your place of residence noted on the TM30, and that you're on overstay.

When moving to a hotel or other place, don't let them have your passport information, especially your passport number. Then make sure you have 500 Baht in cash for each day you overstayed, ideally with a bit extra to spare in case you forgot to count the day you arrived and the day you depart.

There is a huge difference between being arrested somewhere in Thailand, and showing up at the airport with ticket and money in hand.

you are violating the law in giving such advice. It is an illegal act to suggest such a thing. Perhaps be humble, admit your mistake, show up and face the fines. It’s the only right way to handle it. You are not a refugee, go and face the music and hope for kindness.

Ummm.. not really; James Bond or Bourne movies hinge on pretty advanced tactics on tracking people.

In this case, it's basically just a hotel / guesthouse/ hostel or Airbnb host submitting the tm30 record within 24 hours from check-in like they're supposed to.

And then if it's convenient for immigration police they'll come over and grab the guy/girl. It's really super easy for them, barely an inconvenience.

If you overstayed 30 days you’re going to have to pay a fine for those days and be ready to leave the country immediately. you will then have to apply for a new visa at a Thai Consulate which will probably take you a few days or a week. Be totally RESPECTFUL towards any of the authorities and don’t argue with them about anything they say. Just agree to do it. It wouldn’t hurt to dress a little more formally than wearing shorts and flip-flops, and for God’s sake bathe and wash your hair before you show up.

There is a spot in southern Thailand near Wat Khao Rup Chang. There is a cave and an isolated temple closer to the border that you need to go far far back through a rubber plantation to find. There are a few dogs that bark, and monk that will look at you and wonder how you found his temple. If you take a left at the fork when you see the temple, it will take you straight through another rubber plantation. At the back of this, you will find the border wall to Malaysia. It's not guarded. Only 8ft and barbed wire on top. If you hop over this wall, and never return, it will fix your THAILAND overstay problems.

so there it is... Just foreigners caring about the law because it might effect them. This respect the law is complete crap, this is a country where bribing officials and police is common practice. Corruption is rampant, prostitution is illegal yet you wouldn't know it, but overstaying a visa is somehow worse.

those laws might be for the old white guys n gals to have something to rant and rave about so they aren’t bored to death with their lives. Last thing thailand needs or wants is more of them. Don’t play games here mate, you have 10 days to leave the country, otherwise you will be on black least , and all the money in the world will not help you to get into the country in the next 365 days.

I know what I’m saying , cause I have a direct information. You automatically go to ban list if you overstay for more than 40days ( if I remember correct. They have a few categories)

If eligible for an extension go to immigration ASAP and pay for the overstay and apply for the extension. The immigration office will not entertain an extension request once the overstay fine hits maximum which is at 40 days.

If not eligible for an extension, leave Thailand as soon as possible and bring the cash to pay for your overstay on the way out (500 baht per day).
