TBH, I’ve just spent 2 hours on the iPad, trying to apply for a tourist visa. The JPEG or MPEG, whatever they are, where too much to upload? So, I’ve given up trying. It’ll be what it is, now. I’ll either be allowed in? Or, booted. 🥾 🤷‍♂️

when visiting in June, 2025. The IO asked me to provide evidence of return flight details to Australia and accommodation booking, in Thailand.

He pondered for a while, then said, I was good to go. So, off I went. He then called me back. Saying, I’d forgotten to take my passport, which he was holding in his hand. I told him, it had been a long day. He replied, I looked tired. Then laughed, and handed me my passport. Sometimes, I just wonder if it’s all a big game? 🙄

I can’t answer your questions.

I’m just a tourist, worried about being denied entry.

there are people on this thread, commenting they’ve entered Thailand since the upgrade of policing visa rules, post November 2025. These people are in exactly the same situation as myself.

This is AI’s interpretation……

“Thailand's 2025 visa rules focus on curbing visa runs, limiting visa-exempt entries to twice yearly for land borders, implementing the mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), expanding the global e-Visa system, and tightening scrutiny on frequent short entries, especially by land, to encourage proper visas for long stays. Key changes include the TDAC (mandatory since May 1, 2025), limiting visa-exempt entries (two per year for land), and increased scrutiny for repeated visa-exempt entries within a short period, impacting long-term visitors relying on border hops”.

If you scroll to most recent comments. I commented again, on this thread and my feelings.

Since my initial post, I’ve done a bit of internet research. I found the below article. The biggest drama seems to be entering the country more than twice, in one year? Some legal advise says no problem. If a genuine tourist, enter as many times as you want, by air. Other legal opinion, only allowed entry twice per year, period. I think, to play it safe, I’m going to apply for the 3 month tourist visa? It’s probably too late now and won’t be processed before I fly. However, it’s something in my arsenal, if I some how fall foul of an over zealous IO? 🤔

I’ve always entered Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme. 🤷‍♂️
