When you say married, I guess you mean married to a Thai.

If you travel on visa exemption, you’ll get 30 days upon arrival which can be extended with 30 days at your local immigration. If you travel on a tourist visa you’ll get 60 days upon arrival which also can be extended with additional 30 days. If you travel on a Non O retirement visa you’ll get stamped in for 90 days upon arrival.

—> The special ting with being married to a Thai is that you are entitled to a special 60 days additional extension to visit Thai family.

Så dette gir deg;

˚visumfritak 30+30+60

˚Turistvisum 60+30+60

˚Non O visum 90+60

Better to just do a re-entry and get stamped in for a second year. No need or point to apply for an extension of stay before the third year in Thailand.

On a Non O-A visa you’ll get stamped in for a year upon each entry, so if you get stamped in one last time just before it expires you’ll get two years stay on a Non O-A. You’ll need to renew your health insurance, unless you’ll just get stamped in for the validity of your insurance on your second year.

For the first year you have multiple entries, on the second year you’ll need to buy re-entry permits if you leave to get stamped back in again.

If you apply in NZ you just use your bank statement at home to verify your income/funds min 65K baht a month or 800K baht. The issue is the fee for Non O in NZ. If you come on a 30 days visa exemption you’ll probably need an agent to assist you with opening a bank account to bank the required 800K baht. You’ll need 15-21 days on your stamp to apply for a Non O visa and the fee is 2000 baht. The extension after three months is 1900 baht. To get an agent to open a bank account is normally 3500-5000 baht. If you get a Non O at home you can open an account yourself.

Indian citizens are still entitled to a 30 visa exemption which can be extended with additional 30 days at your local immigration until 11th of November. This gives you 60 days in total.

You can apply for a six month multiple entries tourist visa. This gives you 60 days upon arrival each time within 6 months. Generally it’s not easy to maximise more than two tourist visas within a year and spend more than 180 days in Thailand.

@Graham *****
Gave a totally correct answer and it’s recommended to apply for the initial Non O at home proving income/funds with your bank at home before you leave. Then you’ll have no problems with opening a bank account in Thailand and bank the required 800K baht within a month for your extension of stay.
