You’ll need to get an agent to assist you with opening a bank account. But if you have an income/pension equal to minimum 65K baht a month, your embassy in Bangkok still offers to provide you an affidavit letter to confirm your income. You’ll then don’t need to prove the 800K baht in a thai bank for the first year.

Yes I see Non ED require inbound and outbound tickets. Non O retirement don’t.

You probably applied for a tourist visa with onward ticket requirements. For Non O visas you don’t need to prove neither an inbound nor an outbound ticket, just inform when you intend to go.

If you have a passport from Finland you just can come on a 60 days visa exemption, do a 30 days extension, a border bounce and re-enter on another 60 days visa exemption and apply for a new extension.

Bank account is convenient but not necessary for a one time stay and you probably won’t be allowed to open on either unless you get an agent to assist you as stated.

For a first time stay up to six months you could also have considered a regular six months multiple entries tourist visa. The METV gives you possibility for to stay up to nine months and for a six months stay you’ll need to do one border bounce. Can only be applied for at the embassy/consulate of your permanent residence at date. Up to you, but a METV normally costs around 200 USD.

METV You’ll find it under tourist visa with multiple entries and six months validity.

You don’t need a METV at 200 USD for just six months when you without any issues can get the same stay with free visa exemption.

Just buy a real ticket to a nearby destination at 40-50 USD. Arrive on a 60 days visa exemption, do a 30 days extension and a border run to re-enter on a 60 days visa exemption and apply for a 30 days extension. As married Thai you can also apply for additional 60 days extension visiting Thai family if your marriage is registered in Thailand.
