Going to be in Thailand about 7 months at the end of this visa run. Is it likely to get denied if I stay in a neighboring country shortly and apply for another multi entry tourist visa when that runs out?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the likelihood of being denied a multi-entry tourist visa (METV) after staying in Thailand for about seven months. The comments suggest that a METV can only be applied for from the applicant's home country, and if obtained, can allow for extended stays in Thailand. There is also a mention of other visa options such as the retirement visa for those over 50.

You can only apply for a METV at your registered permanent residence at date, but a METV gives you up to nine months stay anyway if you re-enter short time before the visa expires and get stamped in for additional 60 days which also can be extended with additional 30 days at the immigration.
