If this is your recent travel history, you will get another visa exemption without any issues and several land borders can normally be more easy than the airports.

If you’re not familiar with this, several people prefer to use a landborder transport company to bring them across the border and back.

Then maybe it’s more easy for you to just do two 60 days visa exemptions as you planned, if you buy a changeable ticket you should be fine.

If you want to register your marriage in Thailand at one point for longer stays in the future, (60 days extension for visiting thai family and one year extension of stay on a Non O visa based on marriage), this is the way to go in Norway and I guess it’s more or less the same in Sweden.

Registrering ekteskap i Thailand;

1) Hente et internasjonalt utdrag av vigselsattesten fra din kommune

2)Legalisere hos UDI

3)Legalisere ved ambassaden i Bangkok

3)Oversette til thai

4)Legalisere ved Foreign Affairs i Bangkok

5)Registrering ved lokalt Amphur.

I remember you previously also told you’re married to a thai. This gives you possibility to enter on a 60 days visa exemption, do a 30 days tourist extension AND a 60 days additional extension visiting thai family. (Your wife has to be present and your marriage has to be registered in Thailand). But anyway as Stuart states, you might need an onward ticket out within the initial 60 days if your airline requires it.

If you don’t have any previous excessive travel history in and out of Thailand you can probably get two 60 days visa exemption with extension without any issues. Formally you’ll need an onward ticket out of Thailand within the initial 60 days when you enter on visa exemption, -also for your re-entry.

You can just come and get a 60 days visa exemption upon arrival which you also can apply for a 30 days extension on at your local immigration, the same way as with your tourist visa.

Formally you’ll need proof of funds and accommodation, but this is rarely checked in the immigration.

Your only issue is that a visa exemption formally requires an onward ticket within the initial 60 days even though you can apply for an extension. This is rarely checked in the immigration, but your airline might require proof of onward ticket before boarding. I suggest you call your airline and ask for their policy regarding this and/or buy a cheap onward ticket to a nearby destination.

Yes, if you just can “forget” the 800K baht for a while your visa and yearly permission to stay is secured. The day you’re receive your pension or are able to show proof of twelve months consecutive transfers of 65K baht a month you can switch to the income method and your 800K baht is again free to use.

If you want to retire and live of passive income, your best option is probably a Non O retirement visa and yearly extension of stay.

You fulfil on of the main requirement based on your age at date. The second main requirement is income or funds equal to 800K baht a year. (Funds 800K baht. Income 65K baht x 12 = 780K baht).

in order to get nine months you’ll need to do two border bounces and apply for three extensions at your local immigration. Can be done fast, safe and cheap in some hours by a professional land border transport company.
