Have all visa extensions in Chiang Mai been frozen? Including tourist Visa extensions?

According to the document above that Robert Lagas posted, (under the revised definition of work) it seems that it depends on the type of volunteer work one is doing.

Nope, I have used my Krungsri card at several different banks including Krungsri atm's and I have never received any charges or fees from these withdrawals. Nothing on my online statements. It's national also.

Krungsri were very good to me. I was on a tourist visa. I took along my passport and my 12 month rental agreement and they opened an account with Internet banking and a phone app there and then. Also got given a debit card (visa or mastercard, can't recall) and I was good to go. I can ever withdraw from any Thai bank atm and no charges.

I have a rental agreement for 12 months. Recently I did a border run into Myanmar and stayed overnight in Chiang Rai. On the next working day I took the receipt of the TM 30 that my Landlord was given to the Immigration office on the 3rd floor of Promenada Mall and presented it with my passport to the immigration officer. The receipt was stamped and the whole process took about 10 mins at immigration. My landlord is supposed to do it but I did it on her behalf as I have more free time to do it and I make sure its done. No forms to fill in.

That was my thinking too Malcolm. 👍

You could well be right about being confined to that city. However I will check my stamp when I get home. I'm sure others will be able to clarify.

I believe that the stamp you get in Myanmar is for 14 days for the 10USD/500 Baht.
