I still have my current account with barclays and living in Thailand for the last 22 years. I just have to move at least £5 within 3 months to keep it active.
My dad's thai girlfriend has been rejected too. I think i paid some extra for the reason of rejection. They said that i didnt state the monthly income in gbp or thb..but the form clearly asked to put it in gbp...after reapplied got accepted the 2nd time
My thai friends younger brother at 16 got into a really bad motorbike accident. Cost him 500k baht for all hospital bills. If he didnt have medical insurance and if no money to pay the hospital will turn them away.
Mine too! Usually it's 1500-2000 but last month jumped to 4200 and yesterday the bill came in for 5500. I've been in my condo for 8 years and maximum ever was 2200.
As Chris said. I'm half thai british. When you exit uk you don't need to show british passport, only on entry. Use thai passport on check in and entry into Thailand. Exit Thailand on thai passport and enter UK on the british passport. Please don't listen to other advice.
