As a side not she didn’t really seem to know much about it and I thinks it’s one of those typical government implementations dine without due diligence or staff training just like they do in Australia lol and yes Tod ill have 1 year comprehensive travel insurance. Always do.
Benjamin i think thats incorrect mate Non Imm A O or O based on marriage allows 1 year in Thailand with 90 day reporting and i believe with a re-entry permit returning to Thailand just before the first year ends gets you stamped in for another year then i believe you csn apply for extension at the end of that year
UPDATE: I rang the Thai Consulate this morning in Sydney.
True or not i don’t know but the woman i spoke to assured me even after i quoted the new law documents.
Health Insurance is NOT required (in sydney at least) for Nin Immigrant O A visa based in retirement.
It is however required for Non Immigrant O X visa.
So there you have it.
Not sure if i feel relieved or mire confused now.
She stated i only need to show the Thai consulate supplied medical form completed by my doctor.
NOTE:
Heres another hoop to jump through, if you do require the Health Insurance most of the companies require a full medical to provide insurance for over 65.
