Based on marriage(multiple entry)-is it ok to do it more than one time? I'm sure some attempted or know of others who did. Please share your experience or info. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the feasibility of applying for multiple entry NON-O visas based on marriage to a Thai national. Community members share their experiences, highlighting that while you can leave and re-enter Thailand multiple times on a multiple entry visa (staying for a maximum of 90 days each time), some suggest it may be more advantageous to get a single entry NON-O spouse visa to avoid frequent renewals. Others report successfully obtaining multiple annual multiple entry visas, mentioning the potential to extend stays significantly with proper management and reentry permits.

I've had six 1 year multiple entry visas now. 3 from Los Angeles and 3 from Savanakhet. Never had a single problem getting the visas, just read what the requirements are and it's very easy. I've never had a single issue re-entering Thailand with it, and I've reentered the country 40 times in those six years. Once at Padang Basar the immigration lady had me go to her office and she questioned me, but it was nothing, and I've since read that's happens there quite a bit.
I love my wife, but my love for Thailand is long gone, so leaving the country is generally a good experience.

There is no down side to getting a new year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa from a thai consulate and bouncing out and in every 90 days for the validity of the visa then going and getting a totally new visa again, and again, year after year. I know people who've been getting those visas from Savannakhet for years and years and years.
Just so you know you can get almost 15 months of stay out of that Non-O visa (in 90 day increments) and you can get a 60 day extension based on visiting family from the immigration office on the last entry taking you to 17 months of stay on that one year long visa if you work the visa correctly.
Yes I am on my 17th month now , Going to HCMC to get the new one taking the whole family should be fun.

Why not just get a single entry non-o thai spouse visa? Then you don’t have to leave every 90 days. But you CAN leave anytime you want to. You just have to get a re-entry permit first.

I understand. Thanks for the clarification.

You should know that the requirements for foreign WOMEN married to thai men are not the same as the requirements for foreign MEN married to thai women.
For foreign women married to thai men there is no proof of funds, but for foreign men married to thai women they need the funds I outlined earlier.

Umm, I don't know what you are talking about a single entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai is good for ONE entry of 90 days thats it.
Then they would either need to get a yearly extension at the immigration office by meeting the proof of funds of having 400K baht in a thai bank account in their name for 2 months or by showing proof they have a monthly income of 40K baht a month.

On a multiple entry visa, you are allowed to enter and leave as often as you like; however you can only stay in Thailand for 90 days each time.
I have a non o multiple visa based on marriage...i leave every 90 days...cambodia...laos...vietnam...wherever...come back to Thailand

The extension...you don't have to leave...you report to immigration every 90 days....

I know you have to leave

There's no reporting...only if you do not want to leave Thailand every 90 days

Benjamin i think thats incorrect mate Non Imm A O or O based on marriage allows 1 year in Thailand with 90 day reporting and i believe with a re-entry permit returning to Thailand just before the first year ends gets you stamped in for another year then i believe you csn apply for extension at the end of that year
, sorry for sounding stupid but i cant get my head around it. People get a new non 0 visa every 3 months and leave the country to apply and just repeat this process? (Not doing the 90 day and therefore dont have to show funds) I really dont want to transfer 400,000 bht from my UK account as with the £/bht i just see this as throwing money into the wind. After you get this 3 month visa dont you have to go to change it at immigration for a 12 month where you have to show funds at that point? Sorry to sound stupid just trying to find the right thing to do :)
