Hey guys got most my visa stuff sorted but now have a situation I’m unsure of.

Awaiting a new passport delivery and when it comes will be doing 1 year extension on OA in country because cannot leave.

Do they

1. Transfer everything into the new passport

2. What happens regarding TM30 with a passport of a new number

3. Does Thai immigration office do all this or are their other steps/documentation I need to take care of myself

TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you receive your new passport, you need to take both the old and new passport to the immigration office in Thailand to transfer your O-A visa. Immigration will provide a notation that indicates you previously held an O-A visa in the old passport. You can also apply for a new yearly extension at the same time. As for the TM30 form, you don't need to take any immediate action; it will be fine until you need to file a new one.

The Australian embassy don't give a separate letter, they just put a Stamp in the old passport with details of the new one issued in its place.

Thanks Tod that’s exactly the info I needed as usual man. Passport issued in BKK visa and stamp transfer at Phetchaburi

Once you get your new passport (AND the letter from your consulate stating you replaced a passport inside the country) you take them both to the immigration office to get the stamps moved.

They will not move the O-A visa sticker. instead they'll make a notation in the stamp transfer that you previously held an O-A in another passport and entered on it xxx date,

You can move the stamps and apply for a new yearly extension of stay at the same time

TM30 is fine and you won't do anything until you need to file a new one (if you ever do)

In Bangkok there is a "transfer stamp" form you fill out. Here's the back of it telling you what you need (again only in Bangkok).
