he’s not. He’s from my country, which is precisely why generalizations about nationalities is also inappropriate.

if you’re going to communicate globally, you need to understand how people in other countries represent things, such as numbers, spelling and even vocabulary. You didn’t wonder why he would include 3 digits after the “.”? Come on! Think before you type!

Thank you for your very thorough response. I’m not sure why you would think I would have any problem returning to Thailand after my trip to Singapore. My current stay, which will be a total of 39 days, is my only stay since Jan 2020. I don’t see any reason why immigration would have a problem with my returning for another 30 days (I’m actually staying for slightly less). A border run would be a lot of trouble for that goal.

I was considering the multiple entry visa upon my return, however:

1) Because I plan to do more travel than every 60 days, I’m afraid it may end up being more wasteful than other options

2) I don’t see it as an option on the embassy website for some reason

3) I thought I had read that it was no longer available, which I thought explained #2, so I’ve been confused by what the status is…I haven’t worried too much about it due to #1.

The 60 day single entry + 30 day extension while purchasing the multiple entries sounds like it may be useful, but not until I return in January. I didn’t even know that was an option. I was planning to be here longer than 90 days, but I also plan to go to other countries for long enough that I might be able to make that work. Thanks.

well, I don’t celebrate Christmas, yet I’ve encountered places around the world that I’ve been surprised were closed on Christmas. It’s a question. It harms no one, but appearing at a closed office is problematic.

understood. It’s still not an unreasonable question.

and yet, in 2019, I had trouble getting a hold of anyone at Bumrungrad Hospital in late December. I was told it was due to Christmas.

It is not an unreasonable question.

why, thank you! I aim to please. As long as I can keep the trolls happy, my life is complete. Any other helpful comments?

I’m not in the least bit surprised that someone stood up for him. The number of people who live in Thailand because their money goes further, then look down at those who have less, is astounding.

where did he say that he didn’t have reserves? He said he is traveling on a shoestring budget and doesn’t have money FOR A TAXI. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have reserves that he doesn’t want to spend on a taxi. Who made you in charge of his budget and assessment of who he is based upon a few words?

I travel differently than he, but I know people who choose a path similar to his. I have great respect for them and they DO have budgets for emergencies. The reason they do is that they reserve it for…wait for it…emergencies.

At this time, please tell me what is the reason you have, beyond his budget, to show him such disrespect? Is it the fact that he has the advanced planning to have an appointment setup. Is it the fact that he’s asking how long public transit takes to get to that appointment? What exactly is wrong with what he has done that has earned him disrespect or any reason to believe he is not prepared for his travels other than the fact that he said he is trying to stay within a budget?
