Hello. I wonder if you could offer me some guidance please. I am a UK passport holder currently in Australia until the beginning of September. I want to appy for a 6 month multiple entry visa for Thailand, if that's possible, to visit family. My passport is valid until 2032. When I googled the requirements it said I need an itinerary and to show evidence of a return flight. I'm not exactly sure where I plan to go to after Thailand at this moment in time as I'm recently retired and enjoying the freedom of choosing where to visit/live. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder currently in Australia is seeking guidance on obtaining a 6-month multiple entry visa (METV) for Thailand to visit family. The passport is valid until 2032. The individual has found that an itinerary and evidence of a return flight are needed but is unsure about travel plans after Thailand due to recently retiring. Comments from the community note that while the METV typically has to be applied for from the country of permanent residence, there are alternatives, such as a 60-day visa exemption with extensions available.

Are you planning to stay 6 months at a time, if not fly in get 60days visa exempt, extend that 30 days in BKK, 1900bht. fly to KL or Elsewhere then do the same again.

Thanks for the info. Can I still get a 60 day visa whilst I'm in Australia? Thanks

You get a 60 day exempt Visa when you arrive

No need to apply before

Just have a valid passport

And fill in the

TDAC before you arrive

just to be clear, it's not called a 60 day exempt visa. It's not a VISA - it's called a "Visa Exempt Entry" , meaning a visa is not required. If you're from one of the 90+ approved countries you get a free 60 entry stamp (no VISA) with just your passport.

I got a 6 month Multi Entry on March 31

In Aust ( I am Aust )

I had a flight booked which a copy is required

But I did not have nor show a return flight

( I am still in Thailand )

You can only get a METV from your country of permanent residence, not while travelling

in the past we have seen it possible for a Westerner to obtain the METV multiple entry Tourist Visa in Australia. AND in fact, Ho Chi Minh City Thai Embassy just issued a METV to a visitor in Vietnam.

"they did indeed get a 6 month METV for someone thru HCMC without that person living long term in vietnam "

but not under the eVisa system I guess

Yes under the Evisa online application system. HCMC just issued one. To our surprise on this Thai Visa Advice forum.
