TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity to file a TM30 upon returning to your registered address after a short trip within Thailand, such as from Pattaya to Bangkok, appears to be somewhat ambiguous. Many commenters suggest that while the rules indicate a need to file a new TM30 each time you leave and return, experiences vary greatly, and some individuals have reported not facing issues when returning to their original address. It is advised to check directly with the immigration office for your specific case, especially if you are staying in a hotel that might file their own TM30.
It's you permeant address don't need to register again

I live in Bangkok I have traveled all over Thailand, staying in Hotels. I have never filed a new TM30 on returning home, and have never had any issues with 90 day reports or renwel of extensions. The ONLY time I did a new TM30 was on my return from Vietnam.
That is slightly different, then if you move around internally in Thailand.

Just been to the immigration. They said I don't need to re file my TM 30. I hope the story remains the same when I extend my retirement visa in April.

Last April I went for one night in a Bangkok hotel. Before I left Jomtien, I asked the Jomtien immigration office if I'd need to file another TM30. They said no, not if I was returning to the same Jomtien address. My next 90 day report came up, and I filed online. Approved, as usual, no problem. To be safe, you might want to stop into the immigration office and ask them if you stay 3 nights in Bangkok, would you need to file a new TM30. Better you get the info for your situation yourself, directly from the immigration office. Good luck.

It's a mixed bag of Reports about the need to file a TM30 address registration when you are traveling inside Thailand and returning to the same address currently on file with Thai Immigration.
Even inside the Jomtien immigration office, different desks give you differing answers.
To be safe, suggest you file a new TM30 address registration.

Did you stay in a hotel in Bangkok, where you stayed in Bangkok did they register you there?

The hotel would have likely scanned your passport and that would show you staying in Bangkok. So get a new TM30 at your address where you are staying now in Pattaya.
By the rules, yes, but if you are not filed in Bangkok then don't worry about it but if you stay at a hotel and they file, then you will need to refile back in Pattaya because your Pattaya address will no longer be valid because of the hotel filing.
