I'm on a Non-O (retirement) and Chiang Mai told me if it's travel within Thailand there's no need for a new TM30, but if travel is out of the country then they need a new one. But..it's a bit of a catch 22, if I travel within Thailand I can't do an online 90 day due to the address mismatch, so I just do a new TM30 every time as it only takes 30 seconds.
The new TM30 is because your new passport number is in the system replacing your old one. The 90 day reporting remains the same from the date you entered, not the date you did the new TM30.
I was a bit confused on this one myself when I did mine a couple months ago.
I'm in CM and I also got rejected online after a hotel stay locally. When I went down to the office, they said I shouldn't have been rejected. Oh well, I'm retired and they have a drive thru, so I just go through that every 90 days now
From a legal perspective, your contract needs to have the address you rented. It’s the same as if you bought or leased a car, it can’t say you bought car A with vin #1 when you bought Car B vin #2.
I was visa-exempt, got a residence certificate at immigration and walked into K-bank walking out 30 minutes later with an accout. If course I need my passport and a 2nd ID, but it couldn't have been easier
