Hello! We have someone coming to visit us in Thailand for 2 weeks and will be living at out place (we rent here) and wondering if she will need to apply for TM30?

Our long term visas are in order so I just want to make sure we are not messing up anything 😊

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A visitor staying for two weeks in Thailand is technically required to have a TM30 submitted by their landlord, as it is a regulation for foreign guests. However, in practice, if the visitor does not interact with immigration or the police, they may not face immediate issues. It is advisable to submit the TM30 to ensure compliance and avoid potential complications, especially if done online or at the immigration office.

not take long…. It depends of the place where you are. 3 hours stay under the sun is not what you dream about.

in theory your landlord is supposed to do a TM30 for any foreign staying one night or more, in practice if they stay only a short time and don’t have any business with immigration or the police they should be fine

As a rule, every foreigner is supposed to be submitted TM30.

Practically, If they are staying for two weeks and have nothing to do with the immigration office, there is no opportunity for them they need a TM30 receipt unless involving some accidents. If you can do it online, why not do it in case?

Anyway, the final decision is yours.

applying online is not that easy. First you have to open an immigration account and download certain documents. Once your account application is accepted you can register your stay, and that's a bit confusing. Best just to go to local immigration and have them fill it out for you. I would imagine after two weeks when the visitors leave and pass thru immigration to get stamped out, It might raise some eyebrows if there is no record of their lodging.

is there more than one TM 30 registration system. Did you have to create an immigration account before you could actually get to the TM 30 form? did you have to upload documents pertaining to where you were living?

There is only one official system for TM30,

I registered on this system directly.

There are commercial or third-party sites for TM30, those are not official.
