if your parents employer is happy for you to do so then you can get a non-O based on being their dependent. Whether you can do that in country I don't honestly know.
I've never known of anyone to show fund at the 90 day report as that's done when getting the visa and/or applying for an extension. And to be honest, I also doubt that you were asked for proof of funds at your 90 day report unless you also applied for an extension or a new visa on the same day.
