@Steve *******
actually in thailand once, the cop was mad that I only had a Washington license, he said where is your international..which was at my dad's so he followed me home to get it before he would let me go. He said american licenses without international didn't count because we drive on the different side of the road.

u r welcome..wish i could be more help.....i just like to caution everyone when it comes to passport stuff.....my husband got stuck in cambodia for a long time because of the whole embassy / passport / visa thing :(

well the only time a private citizen is allowed to mail a passport is if like for example Portugal Embassy is in bangkok but if covers all of south east Asia, so since bangkok would be the headquarters of the embassy then it would be okay. Im just saying be careful - u can do it, but like it shouldnt be done that way unless like that particular embassy has rule over where the person is

Whatever you do do not courier the passport back to country of orgin to get the Visa. No where in the world is it legal to mail your passport out of the country you are in. Only an embassy has permission to do that. Go in through loas is what id say

just so u know i have personally seen that they do not place stamps in child's passports as they cant overstay *again this was a few years back* thanks for u comment though - but it seems like u dont know much about this loophole as i have known not only family but lots of friends who have gone through this. As long as the kid leaves before their 12th birthday they are cool. But again i advised the man to double check the laws. :) have a great day 555 cant break the law if there is none in regards to a child....but again the laws need to be rechecked been here 35 years and watched this for years :)
