Hello everyone, does someone know if you can exit by a landborder (to Laos for example) if you overstayed 3 years? What would be the process? Just paying the 20k fine and get a overstay/blacklist stamp in passport?
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have overstayed your visa in Thailand for 3 years, you can expect to face significant consequences. The process generally requires you to pay a fine of 20,000 baht and you will receive a 5-year entry ban. Attempting to exit via a land border, such as to Laos, is not advisable; you are more likely to be detained or face additional penalties. Instead, it's recommended to leave through an airport, where you will need to allow ample time to complete the necessary paperwork for your fine and blacklist stamp. There is a possibility of jail time if apprehended by immigration officials, and if you're caught before departure, you may face deportation with a longer ban.
