180 days in Thailand during a single calendar year （eg 2024） means you are considered to be Resident in Thailand and must comply with Thai laws for Residents which includes a tax declaration on 31 March the following year.

im already in Thailand. I managed to get here in compliance with the rules. I hope to add 30 day extension and a border bounce so I won't need a new ticket out until Feb 2025. Still I like to book tickets well in advance to get best prices. Last minute can be almost double price.

and if I'm refused I have only a week to book my flight ？ that's unfair. I want to book a flight now （if I'm leaving by Nov 9） or in a couple of weeks if my visa is extended until Dec 9. You appear to indicate I won't find out if we'll be given extensions until a week before our visas expire. Maybe we should border bounce instead？

yes...the ticket is fully valid for 48 hrs to show the immigration officer. It's real but will become “cancelled” after two days.
